Marine insurance
Cover for your car while it is at sea, up to its full value. It is optional, it costs a few percent of the car's value, and we think it is worth having.
Peace of mind
Our marine insurance policy covers your car up to its full value if it is damaged in transit. If the unlikely happens, you are paid out for the value of the car or the cost of repairing it, without a fight.
In all our years of shipping cars we have not had to rely on it. But it means the whole thing can be stress free, whatever happens on the way.
Do you need it?
That is entirely up to you. It is worth knowing, though, that your normal car insurance will not cover the car while it is being shipped. And if something happens to the ship that results in a total loss, you would not be covered at all.
It is usually a few percent of the car's value, so for most people it is an easy yes. An excess applies to minor damage, and your quote will tell you what it is. Just tell us on your quote form and we will include it.
